  1. What is an alteration?
    A modification to an existing garment to fit a client.
    An alteration is a modification to an existing garment. We can alter most items to fit our client’s specific preferences as long as they are within reason. If the client’s request is outside of our field of expertise, we will be sure to inform them.

  2. How much does an alteration cost?
    We have a basic price list as our reference point, however prices vary based on garment construction and fabric.

  3. How long do alterations usually take?
    Normally 3-4 days. Busy season 7 days. We always offer Express service for an additional charge.

  4. What happens at a consultation?
    We look at the garment to prescribe the best alterations for the best fit. We inform the client the alterations price so they can make an educated decision as to determine if they’d want to alter the garment.

  5. Do we allow walk-ins or do you have to have an appointment?
    We offer both.

  6. What types of alterations can be made to a suit?
    Basic alterations are: shorten sleeves, take in a waist or hem the pants. We also offer reconstruction services. Which included reconstructing the shoulders, making the front paned of a coat smaller, or cutting down a pair of pants a few sizes.

  7. How are you maintaining a clean and safe environment in your shops during COVID?
    We ask all clients fo wear masks, we disinfect after every fitting, and have only 2-3 person min in the lobby at one time.

  8. Can you alter a garment that has already been altered elsewhere?
    Yes, it might be challenging based on the previous work.

  9. Do You Alter men’s clothing?
    Yes

  10. Can you replace or repair a zipper?
    We can do both.

  11. Can Alteration Specialists repair, reweave, or mend damaged clothing?
    We will only mend garments. (Sweaters, jean patches)

  12. What happens if I change my mind after my garment has been altered?
    We will be happy to refit the garment to make it look as desired.

  13. What happens if I’m unhappy with my alterations?
    We guarantee our work so we find ways to make the garment fit.

  1. How long do bridal alterations usually take?
    Our normal turnaround is a month. However we work with our bride’s schedule.

  2. How much do bridal alterations usually cost?
    Bridal alteration vary. It costs $150 for the simplest alterations to $500 for multiple alterations. It’ best to come in for consultation.

  3. Do I need to make an appointment for my bridal alterations?
    Yes.

  4. Do you do bridal consultations?
    Yes.

  5. How much do you charge for a consultation?
    No charge.

  6. How long before my wedding should I come in for my bridal alterations?
    It’s based on the brides comfortability, however, were recommend 2 months before the wedding. We also help brides who need Express alterations.

  7. I’m losing weight for my wedding. When should I get my dress fitted?
    A few weeks before the wedding.

  8. Should I expect a second fitting for my bridal alterations?
    Yes, be prepared for a few fittings. It’s worth the process.

  9. What should i bring with me to my bridal alteration appointment?
    Appropriate undergarments that work with your dress, and bridal shoes.

  10. Can You customize my bridal gown for me?
    Most of the time.

  11. What alterations can be made to a wedding dress?
    Shorten shoulders/straps, take in sides, take in zippers, shorten hems, shorten/taper sleeves.

  12. Is it possible to change the style of a wedding dress?
    Sometimes, as long as the fabric, and dress construction allow us to reconstruct the dress

  13. Can I have my bridal alterations rushed?
    Yes, we often alter bridal gowns on short notice. We also have the option of express alterations for an extra fee.
